Have you visited my previous post about opening an account in First Metro Securities Brokerage Corp. with zero initial investment? If you haven’t, you shouldn’t miss that one, even if you opt to invest in FAMI’s mutual funds. Check it out here.
Here’s a short tutorial on how you can open a monitoring account for your FAMI Mutual Fund Investments.
Prerequisites:
- You should have opened an account in First Metro Securities Brokerage Corp. (FMSBC). FMSBC is the brokerage arm of the Metrobank Group. If you haven’t opened an account yet, you can open anytime with zero initial investment. Check it out here.
- You should have an existing FAMI mutual fund investment. If you haven’t, you can open anytime with just a minimum P5,000 initial investment. You can check here how to open an account.
Instructions:
- Download and appropriately fill up the Letter of Authorization for Existing FAMI account. You’ll be needing your FMSBC Account Code and your FAMI Client Account Number.
- You can locate your FMSBC Account Code in your Trading Account. Just login and refer to the figures on the right side of your Username
- For your FAMI Account Number, you can refer to your Statement of Account (SOA) at the topmost right. If you haven’t received an SOA yet, just email FAMI at fami@firstmetro.com.ph. They’re quite accommodating (in my case, I received my SOA a day after my investment was booked) - Submit the accomplished Letter of Authorization to FAMI, cc FMSBC, through the following means:
- FAX to FAMI at 816-0467 copy FMSBC 859-0699
- email a scanned copy with signature to fami@firstmetro.com.ph copy customerservice@firstmetrosec.com.ph
Once submitted, you’ll receive an acknowledgment email from FAMI. In their email, I was told that it would take 2 to 3 days before changes will take effect. On my case, I’ve submitted the documents on a Friday. Then, at Monday, I can already see my investments in my account.
How to Access the FAMI Mutual Fund Monitoring?
The monitoring portal is accessible inside your FSMBC account. Once logged in, click on the menu “FAMI” located at the rightmost part of the menu.
Another tab will open, reflecting your most recent mutual fund transactions, with details such as the following:
- COR No. and Date
- Fund Code (Fund Subscribed in)
- No. of Shares bought
- Latest NAVPS
and more….
This would really be a good tool to check how your investments are growing.
I was told that you can do Buy and Sell transactions from the account as well, although, I haven’t tried that one yet.

nick pag mag open ba ako ng online monitoring acct na yan db kelangan muna mag start ako mag open ng bank accnt sa metrobank….. is it ATm or passbook?
Yup.. Basta meron ka online banking account ng metrobank, either ATM or passbook.
Hello Nick,
I am interested to invest in Fami mutual Fund, but one requirement i dont have . which is very difficult for me to take as of now as i am here in abroad? is it ok wihout TIN yet?
I’m not sure about the COR eh, haven’t looked at mine. Ang ginamit ko is ung Client Number na nakalagay sa SOA na inemail hiningi ko sa FAMI. Have you received your SOA already?
Hi Nick,
Please differentiate UITF & Mutual Fund?
Thanks,
Hi Nick! So does it mean if i don’t have FMSBC Account it won’t be possible for me to monitor my FAMI online? I have my trading account na kasi sa COL so as of now i don’t have plan to open new trading account pa as i’m still learning eh. Thanks again.
Hi Cristina,
Apparently, yes. Wala pa kasing dedicated system ang FAMI for their investors. As of now nakikiride lang sila sa FMSBC.
Kung meron ka naman Metrobankdirect account, you can still open an FMSBC without any cost. You can still continue using COL. Your FMSBC account will just be dedicated to monitor your FAMI investments.
Actually, from there, you can also buy and sell your mutual fund holdings from FAMI, online.
One may also monitor any stock, mutual fund or uitf at this website: http://www.bloomberg.com/markets/watchlist/ You just need to register, then add your investments to the watchlist.
Hi Nick!
I tried following your instructions on how to open a FAMI online account but I encountered some problems.
You can locate your FMSBC Account Code in your Trading Account. Just login and refer to the figures on the right side of your Username
- login where? in MFP? I’ve logged in but can’t find any figure beside my username.
For your FAMI Account Number, you can refer to your Statement of Account (SOA) at the topmost right. If you haven’t received an SOA yet, just email FAMI at fami@firstmetro.com.ph.
- Still no letters/SOAs from them till now. I also emailed them around a week or 2 ago but i didn’t get any replies.
Also regarding PhilEquity, I haven’t been receiving monthly SOAs as you mentioned in your email.
Thanks!
Hi Kat,
With regards to opening an account on FAMI’s online SOA facility, you have to open an account first on First Metro Securities Brokerage Corp. (FMSBC). You can read this post for a tip on how you can open account with them with zero initial investment http://mutualfundphilippines.com/2012/10/stock-market-investing/how-to-open-a-stock-brokerage-account-with-zero-initial-cash-outlay/
From your account on FMSBC, you can find your Online Trading Account Code.
For your FAMI account number, you can refer to the soft copies I I have provided you. You can find the needed information there (I also used the soft copy of the SOA)..
For your Philequity investment, the customer service there mentioned to me that they are sending monthly SOA. If in case na wala talagang pinapadala, please contact Philequity here http://www.philequity.net/contact.php
Let me know if this clarify your concerns.
Ok, clarification lang though.
The required initial investment for clients with MetrobankDirect account is ZERO. However, for clients with no Metrobank account, the minimum initial investment is P25,000.00. Have no Metrobank Account? No sweat, just open an ATM account only for P2,000.00.
I don’t have a Metrobank account but I already have a FAMI investment. So does that count already, or do I have to open an ATM account pa?
Yes, you still need to open a Metrobank account, then apply it to metrobankdirect.
